Powered by You empowers young people by encouraging healthy lifestyles and targeting issues such as obesity (the number one most preventable cause of death and disease in America).  Powered by You uses the power of sports marketing, high profile and quality amateur sports, recreational events and activities that bring new participants to athletics, health mentors, corporate wellness and partnerships with existing programs to accomplish its goals.

The focus in 2009 is to reach young people through the Washington Games (July, 2009). The program began in Washington, but is designed to be portable geographically, demographically and across multiple health initiatives.

The Seattle Sports Commission (SSC) created Powered by You as a community service to promote healthy lifestyles to young people in Washington.

Your Opportunity
